MSD Ignition ® 3-In-1 Distributor Set-Up Tool 8599 is three tolls in one.
1) By inserting it into the engine before the oil pump is attached you will be able to determine the correct oil pump intermediate shaft length that will be needed for your engine's combination.
2) The tool can be used to determine the proper position for the slip collar on any of the MSD Chevy Pro-Billet Distributors with a slip collar.
3) Once the engine is assembled, the tool can be also used for oil pump priming & pre-lubing the bearings on the newly assembled engine.
